Sweet baby Hazel joined me in the studio for her newborn session, and she brought along her twin big sisters for what turned into a very real (and very memorable) sibling experience.
From the start, it was clear that welcoming a brand new baby sister is a big adjustment—especially when you’ve been sharing the spotlight your whole life. We had the best intentions of capturing that perfect, heart-melting photo of all three girls together. Coordinated outfits? Check. Soft, cozy setup? Check. Adorable newborn peacefully snuggled in? Also check.
Happy big sisters? …not exactly.
The twins had their own opinions about the newest member of the family, and they weren’t shy about expressing them. While we did our best to encourage sweet snuggles and gentle moments, the session became less about perfection and more about authenticity—and honestly, that’s where the magic really lives.
Between the hesitant cuddles, serious expressions, and a few “I’m not so sure about this” moments, we captured something even more meaningful: the beginning of their sibling story. Because one day, these same big sisters will be Hazel’s biggest protectors, her playmates, and her best friends. And these early, honest moments will be part of the story they’ll laugh about for years to come.
And of course, in between it all, Hazel was an absolute dream—sleepy, snuggly, and completely unbothered by the big emotions happening around her.
Newborn sessions with siblings don’t always go perfectly—and they’re not supposed to. They’re real, unpredictable, and beautifully human. And I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Welcome to the world, Hazel. Your story with your sisters is already unforgettable.
