There is nothing quite like capturing the first few days of a newborn’s life — those fleeting, tender moments when everything is new, peaceful, and perfectly still. This week, I had the absolute joy of photographing sweet Sofia Ann, just one week old, and every frame from this session is pure magic.
We embraced a soft, dreamy aesthetic for Sofia’s session, with blush pink tones, delicate textures, and cozy, bed-like setups that let her natural beauty shine. From the moment she was gently swaddled and placed on our snuggly, layered bed setup, she settled right in — as if she knew this was her spotlight moment.
The Styling
The color palette for Sofia’s shoot was inspired by timeless softness — pale pinks, creamy whites, and touches of warm blush. We used plush knit blankets, faux fur layers, and hand-picked headbands to complement her delicate features without overwhelming them. Every detail was intentionally chosen to highlight her tiny fingers, curled toes, and that peaceful newborn expression that only lasts for a few precious days.
The Poses
Sofia was an absolute dream to photograph. Her sleepy snuggles allowed us to gently guide her into classic, curled-up newborn poses — from her resting on her tummy with her arms tucked under her chin, to being cradled in a soft pink wrap, peeking out with those beautiful sleepy eyes. The bed-inspired posing gave everything a natural, homey warmth, as if she were dreaming sweetly right in her nursery.
